With the summer holidays (unbelievably) already upon us, it’s time to start planning that long-awaited family trip to the Sunshine Coast, and a visit to our coastal paradise isn’t complete without a day at the epicentre of family, fun and laughter. You can’t miss the Aussie World entertainment precinct – which incorporates the iconic Banana Bender Pub, as you drive along the highway towards your chosen holiday destination.
Aussie World is renowned for hosting the most spectacular Christmas celebration of the year on the Sunshine Coast, which is why we named it the Christmas Spectacular.
Christmas will come to Aussie World on Saturday 18 December, giving guests the chance to meet the big man himself, Santa and his wife Mrs Claus. The kids can share their Christmas gift wish list and the whole family can enjoy a heap of live entertainment and good old-fashioned theme park fun!
The event will bring you face to face with Christmas characters, roving entertainers and dancers, and will keep you entertained throughout the day with our live Christmas shows. Dazzling Christmas lights, falling snowflakes and live entertainment headlined by a very special guest will top off the spectacular celebration.
To add to the festive excitement at Aussie World, a dedicated event for the tiny tots will be held on Thursday 23 December. Tiny Tots – Festive Special is the perfect opportunity for you to bring the youngest members of the family along to their first Christmas theme park experience.
The three hours of fun will include all the kiddy rides available, plus Santa and Elf photos, lollies galore, a best dressed competition, Christmas characters and shows, and festive food specials.
Finally, to end the year with a bang, and a whole lot of fun, Ride the Night is back with a New Years Eve special on Friday 31 December from 5pm. The event will begin in the theme park, featuring acrobatic roamers, an impressive fireworks display and live music with Johnny Spitz LIVE until 9pm.
The party will then move into the Banana Bender Pub, where guests can bring in the new year to 1980s tunes bought to you by a live DJ.
The Banana Bender pub is open all summer for good times, with a twist! Locals and visitors are offered up a taste of the Sunshine Coast on tap, with the combination of a modern Australian cuisine, and many uniquely themed bars featuring fun Aussie artifacts – this is what makes this gastropub so iconic on the coast.
Starting November, Banana Bender patrons can also play a round of mini golf at Aussie World’s Platypus Ponds from $10 per person.
Aussie World will open the gates seven days a week from Monday 29 November with over 30 rides and attractions open for our kind of fun, including the newest attraction – the thrill seeking SX360!
There’s no better way to celebrate summer with family and friends on the Sunshine Coast this summer!
