RIDING SAFE at Aussie World
Safety is our core value – it guides everything we do.
At Aussie World, safety comes first. Every day, our technicians, engineers, and ride attendants work to ensure rides and attractions operate to the highest standards. But safety is everyone’s responsibility, including our guests.
But safety isn’t just our job – it’s everyone’s responsibility, including our guests. Here’s how we deliver safe thrills, and how you can help us keep Aussie World safe and fun for all.
If your organisation requires visibility of our Health and Safety Policy before visiting, it is available on request.

- All rides are inspected annually by an independent, certified inspection body.
- We partner with industry experts to ensure attractions not only meet but exceed national and international safety standards.

- Every morning, trained and competent technicians carry out comprehensive pre-opening tests on each ride. Additionally trained and competent ride managers perform additional pre- opening tests on each ride.
- These checks are backed by monthly and annual maintenance programs, ensuring rides remain in peak condition.

- Ride operators must undergo extensive training and competency checks before operating.
- Dedicated trainers and shadow trainers (wearing bright safety vests) mentor operators until they achieve full accreditation.

- Many rides are monitored by advanced computer systems that continually check performance and safe operation.
- Automatic stoppages are triggered by sensors — sometimes for something as simple as heavy rain — to keep you safe.

- Weekly safety modules and regular drills ensure our team is always prepared.
- Safety isn’t a tick-box exercise — it’s a core value woven into every aspect of the park.

Stoppages are a built-in safety feature. While they may seem frustrating, they are designed to protect guests.
Common reasons rides stop include:
- Sensors detecting obstructions (rain, debris, system checks)
- Guests using mobile phones or cameras while riding
- Guest illness
- Lost property in a ride area
- Inappropriate behaviour

We don’t like closing rides, but we always prioritise safety. Rides reopen as soon as systems and engineers confirm it is safe.
Sometimes, we have to make difficult decision to close the park because the rain, high winds and lightning delay or stop comprehensive pre-opening tests to be conducted on each ride . We will not compromise your and our staff safety.
- Rain: may temporarily close rides
- High wind: all rides are closed at winds in excess of 45km, some rides at 35 km
- Lightning: detected within 15km will stop all rides and rides cannot be reopened until the 30 minutes after the last thunderclap as per Australian standards

At Aussie World, safety is everyone’s responsibility – including our guests.
- Follow Ride Rules: These are developed by each ride’s manufacturer and strictly enforced by Aussie World for your protection.
- Height Restrictions: Safety restraints are designed to meet specific height requirements. These limits are not flexible and must be followed for your safety.
- Listen to Instructions: Please pay attention to and follow the directions of our ride attendants.
- Responsible Behaviour: Acting irresponsibly puts you and others at risk. Guests who do so may be asked to leave the park.
By working together, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable day for everyone.
